about
I was inspired by Jonathan Mann's "How I Write a Song a Day" series.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWurgmyG_Uc So I wrote about the first thing that came to mind (in this case, missing my wife, who was away at BlogHer '11) and just tried to "get it done".
This was also an experiment with additional vocal tracks and a bass line as well.
lyrics
We can't see the stars
driving in our cars
passing 'round the clocks
that take me away from you
I don't sleep in my bed
or let things out of my head
wearing mismatched socks and
never saying anything to you
about how I'm going
to make it through
where are you going (this time)?
won't you take me too?
I'm falling between cracks
just knowing you'll be back
stare at the unlocked door
and wish aloud "I could go"
I don't mean what I say
just to get you to stay
we've all been alone before
but I'm saying I just don't know
how I'm going
to make it through
where are you going (this time)?
won't you take me too?
where are you going (this time)?
won't you take me too?
I don't sleep in my bed
or let things out of my head
